The short answer
Use Remix to explore a new arrangement of an existing song. Upload the source, describe the instrumentation and feel you want, optionally add an authorized style reference, and choose how strongly to preserve the original. Remix is not the workflow for supplying replacement lyrics.
Start with a clear arrangement goal
Decide what should change and what should remain recognizable. 'Acoustic guitar and brushed drums, a restrained verse and a wider chorus' gives a clearer direction than a list of unrelated genre names.
The studio accepts MP3, WAV, FLAC and M4A source files up to 100 MB. Use a source you are permitted to adapt. A style reference is optional and must also be authorized; do not treat it as permission to copy another recording.
1. Describe change and preservation separately
Write a short brief that identifies the desired groove, instruments and dynamics. Explicitly mention the elements you want to keep recognizable, such as the main melody or chorus shape. Remix is intended to retain the source lyric and lead-vocal content while exploring the arrangement, but generated details can differ.
Tempo or instrumentation requests are directions for generation, not exact musical constraints. Listen to the result rather than assuming that a requested number guarantees an exact tempo.
2. Choose a starting balance
The studio offers original preservation, energy and creativity controls. Higher preservation asks for a closer relationship to the source; energy steers the musical intensity and is not simply a volume control. Creativity steers how much variation to explore.
Start near the existing defaults. If the result drifts too far, try a more focused brief and a higher preservation direction. If it barely changes, clarify the new instruments or groove before changing several controls together.
3. Submit and compare the same sections
Sign in, verify your email, review the current allowance or points requirements and confirm your rights before submitting. Follow the task center instead of repeatedly clicking submit.
Compare a verse, a chorus and a transition at similar listening levels. Check whether the musical hook remains recognizable and whether the new arrangement serves your brief. Keep each source and prompt so you can reproduce the input conditions of a revision.
- Check melody recognition, not just a stronger opening.
- Listen for clashes between the vocal and new instruments.
- Choose Lyrics for new words or Repaint for one selected passage.
INPUT EXAMPLE — NOT A GENERATED RESULT
Arrangement brief example
Rework my original song into a warm acoustic arrangement. Use fingerpicked guitar, restrained bass and brushed drums. Keep the main melody and chorus structure recognizable. Let the chorus open up without making the verse dense.
This is an example prompt, not a claim that the output has been generated or will exactly match every instruction.
Frequently asked questions
Can Remix replace my lyrics?
Use Lyrics when changing the sung words is your goal. Remix's current workflow focuses on musical arrangement rather than a replacement-lyric input.
Do I need a style-reference upload?
No. The Remix studio allows a source and a written direction without a style reference.
Does higher energy just make the song louder?
No. Treat energy as a musical-direction control. Judge groove, density and dynamics as well as playback level.
